Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 July 2026
This privacy policy explains how GhettoScape (ghettoscape.com, "we", "us") collects and uses information when you visit our website, create a game account, or make a purchase.
Who we are
GhettoScape (ghettoscape.com) is an independently operated online game. In this policy, "we" and "us" refer to the operator of GhettoScape. For any privacy question or request, contact us at [privacy@ghettoscape.com].
Information we collect
Information you provide. When you create a game account (via our game client), we collect the username, email address, and password you choose. When you contact support or join our Discord community, we receive the information you send us there.
Purchases. Purchases in our store are processed by third-party payment providers (including Stripe). We do not store your full card details; payment providers share with us the information needed to fulfil and record your order (such as transaction ID, amount, and email).
Automatically collected information. When you use the website or game, we collect technical data such as IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, and interactions with links and buttons on our site. Our game servers log gameplay and connection data needed to run the service and prevent abuse.
Advertising click data. If you arrive at our site from an online advertisement, the link may contain a click identifier (such as a Google click ID, “GCLID”). Subject to your cookie consent choices, we store this identifier to measure the effectiveness of our advertising.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for:
- Essential operation - session handling, security, and remembering your consent choices. These are always active.
- Advertising measurement (with your consent) - we use Google Ads conversion tracking (Google’s “gtag”) to measure whether our advertising results in visits, downloads, and sign-ups. With your consent, Google may set cookies and process identifiers for this purpose. Where consent is declined, measurement operates only in aggregated, cookieless form.
You can change your cookie choices at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in our consent banner. For more on how Google uses data, see Google’s privacy & terms.
How we use information
- To provide and operate the game and website, including accounts, downloads, and purchases
- To secure the service, prevent fraud, cheating, and abuse
- To measure and improve our advertising and website (subject to consent where required)
- To communicate with you about the service, including updates and, where you have subscribed, email newsletters (you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in each email)
- To comply with legal obligations, including tax and accounting rules
Legal bases (EEA/UK users)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: contract (providing the game and processing purchases), legitimate interests (service security, abuse prevention, basic analytics), consent (advertising cookies and measurement, email marketing), and legal obligation (financial record-keeping).
Sharing
We share information with service providers who process it on our behalf: hosting and infrastructure providers, payment processors (e.g. Stripe), email delivery providers, and Google (advertising measurement, subject to consent). We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information where required by law.
Some providers process data outside the EEA/UK; where they do, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Retention
Account data is kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards. Purchase records are kept as required by tax and accounting law. Advertising click identifiers are kept for up to 90 days. Server and security logs are kept only as long as needed for their purpose.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, contact [privacy@ghettoscape.com]. EEA/UK users also have the right to complain to their supervisory authority.
Children
The website and game are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time; the “last updated” date above reflects the current version. Material changes will be announced on the website.
